HEAR THE OUTCOMES OF THE DECISION ON THIS DAVID VERSUS GOLIATH CASE IN NSW LAND & ENVIRONMENT COURT TO STOP MANLY COUNCIL FROM REZONING AND SELLING OFF HARBOUR FORESHORE LAND
A decision in the case brought by community action group Save Little Manly Beach Foreshore Inc. against Manly Council will be handed down by Mr. Justice Biscoe this afternoon at 4pm in the NSW Land & Environment Court.
The Save Little Manly Beach campaign is a landmark case and the ruling handed down by Mr Justice Biscoe has potential impacts for the proposed NSW Planning system which Minister Brad Hazzard delayed on the 19th September.
In his announcement Minister Hazzard communicated he wants to see the new framework empower communities to deal with their local Councils more proactively however in this case it is Manly Council’s refusal to listen to local community concerns and conduct an open community consultation that has resulted in the matter ending up in the Land & Environment Court.
Media are invited to hear directly from The President of the Save Little Manly Beach Foreshore Inc. group Jacqueline French the outcomes of the decision on the land they have been fighting to save in this campaign. ENDS:
