Fujitsu Wins Peak Vendor and Green Star Award in Longhaus Data Centre Provider Pulse Study

Announcement posted by Fujitsu Australia Limited 10 Oct 2013

Early investment pays off with customer confidence
Sydney, 10 October 2013 – Fujitsu today announces it has been positioned as the leading Data Centre Provider in the Longhaus Australian Data Centre Providers Pulse 2013-2014 report for Australia and New Zealand. In this year’s report, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand was recognised with two awards: The Peak Vendor Award for the most comprehensive data centre offering, and the Green Star Award for market leading sustainability practices.

This study is an assessment of the main data centre providers offering services in Australia and New Zealand.  In conducting the evaluation, Longhaus undertook detailed analysis of vendors in order to assess their relative strengths and weaknesses in relation to the market segment.

The ‘Peak Vendor’ status is awarded to the highest performing and fully committed vendor in Australia and New Zealand. In particular it identifies the leading vendor in the local market providing a solid choice for local buyers. The ‘Green Star Award’ recognises market leading operational and financially-focussed sustainability capability.

Peter Carr, Managing Director of Longhaus, said “In a discipline that is one of the most multi-generational in our industry, it is inspiring to see Fujitsu continuing to break ground in the data centre market with new approaches to service delivery, management and sustainability. They deserve their result here. They are true expert practitioners in a field that has too easily given way to the gloss and dross of cloud, and a myriad of shiny new facilities in recent years.”

Mike Foster, Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said “We are proud to be recognised as a leader by Longhaus in this well respected report.  We were one of the first major vendors to invest in data centres and cloud in this region and this is a strategy that has proven itself many times over.

“Fujitsu is a worldwide leader in data centre design, construction and operation, and is at the forefront of innovation in data centre technologies as a result of our experience in  building and operating over 100 data centres around the world.  In this region alone we manage more than 17,000 servers and 15 petabytes of data for our customers.”

Fujitsu manages more than 145,000 servers and 140 petabytes of data for its customers in over 100 data centres around the world.
