SONY APPOINTS THE RESOURCE CORP FOR PRO AUDIO RANGE

Announcement posted by Sony Australia 16 Oct 2013

For musical instrument market

Sony Australia’s Professional Solutions Division today announced the appointment of Melbourne-based The Resource Corp (TRC) as its official distributor for professional audio products to the musical instrument market.

Sony's most recent professional audio products are particularly targeted at the MI market, with the launch of the company's new DWZ Series of digital wireless microphone systems, operating in the 2.4GHz band. The DWZ range includes several models specifically designed to enable musicians and performers to work wirelessly. These include systems for vocals, guitar, bass and wind instruments such as sax or trumpet.

TRC Director Tony Hosking said, “We are delighted to be handling Sony's leading edge pro audio technologies. Sony’s strong reputation for innovation, their brand reputation and the quality of their products are a perfect fit with the values developed by TRC over many years in the musical instrument and pro audio markets.”

Senior Product Manager for Content Creation with Sony Australia, Nick Buchner said, “TRC have a well-established and extensive customer base across Australia and their reputation is second to none. We are already working closely with TRC to expand opportunities for our pro audio MI product range. The new DWZ digital wireless kits are a key part of that, aimed at working musicians of all levels, offering a new generation of audio quality and feature versatility, whilst liberating them from cables.”

Sony’s pro audio range encompasses wireless microphone systems for the UHF (520-694MHz) and 2.4GHz WiFi bands, a large variety of wired microphones, professional headphones, portable digital recorders and AV mixer/amplifiers. This includes several models that have essentially become defacto industry standard in broadcast and recording applications, such as the ECM-77B lavalier microphone and MDR-7506A headphones.
