Jean Chan Promoted to Chief Financial Officer, APAC

Chan Ching Yi Also Promoted To Regional Financial Controller, APAC

Jean Chan has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer for Starcom MediaVest Group’s APAC region, reporting in her new role to Daniel Mattei, Global Chief Financial Officer, SMG. Jean will have oversight over all financial matters pertaining to the region, which includes Greater China, India, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Jean was previously Regional Finance Director for SMG, APAC. Jean will continue to be based in SMG’s Singapore office.

“Jean’s promotion is a result of her service and contribution to our business,” said Mattei. “She has been a strong business partner across markets and an intricate part of our growth across the region. Additionally, her stewardship has driven efficiencies and provided leadership throughout Asia Pacific.”

Chan Ching Yi has also been promoted to Regional Financial Controller. She will continue to report to Chan in her new role. Ching Yi will have oversight over financial operations for Southeast Asia and North Asia.


Prior to joining Starcom MediaVest Group, Jean was a lead auditor at Ernst & Young in Singapore where she was involved in the business risk assessment on clients’ financial, operational and system processes as well as compliance audits. Through Ernst & Young’s risk assessment methodology, she co-developed clients’ expectations, communicated audit results and recommended improvements on clients’ business processes. Earlier in her career, she held positions at BHP Billiton Marketing Asia Pte, Ltd., Dell Computers and Intel Technology Asia. Chan holds a B.A. in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University.
