FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Art Exhibition for BlueCross Broughtonlea Resident, Barbara Berger

BlueCross Broughtonlea resident, Barbara Berger, had her life’s work displayed at an art exhibition in the Surrey Hills aged care residence on Saturday 14 December.

The atmosphere at the event was a sophisticated one with a pianist setting the mood for art lovers, residents and members of the local community who were in attendance.

BlueCross Broughtonlea Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator, Keirston Whelan, said, ‘Barbara was absolutely thrilled with the turnout on the day.

‘So many of the visitors commented on the quality of Barbara’s work and seemed to really enjoy the hospitality.’

Barbara has been interested and involved in art from a young age and, since joining the BlueCross Broughtonlea family, she has had the opportunity to really commit to developing and pursuing her passion.

Beyond being a talented artist, Barbara has found comfort through her art therapy program at BlueCross.

Art Therapist, Dan Green, said, ‘I have been helping Barbara with her art therapy for a long time now. Barbara has an energy about her that I only see when she is talking about or getting involved with her art and it is so rewarding to be a part of that.’

Barbara finds her art therapy sessions to be very healing as it helps her manage and release physical and emotional stresses.

BlueCross Broughtonlea is a modern 109 bed extra service aged care residence located in Surrey Hills.
