Veritech Australia introduces New SMC Security Products at Sydney launch

Announcement posted by SMC Networks 27 Mar 2002

Hosted at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Veritech Australia is launching an exciting new product which addresses the security concerns with wireless networks. The launch will be held at 5:00 PM at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney on Wednesday 27th March 2002.

New EliteConnect Secure Server is a novel new product from SMC Products, which sits between wireless access points, and the internal network, acting like a bastion host to protect the internal network. Any users on the wireless networks must be authenticated through the Secure Server, and also must meet a range of other security measures if they are to be able to access the internal network. The Secure Server also supports roaming across Access Points, which is particularly important for mobile users or systems.

Veritech Australia are a new and upcoming technology distributor which entered the Australian market last year. They are using the Secure Server as a showcase during this launch, which will also introduce the company to the Sydney Reseller market. Veritech Australia are seeking tier-1 resellers, as well as networking-focused systems integrators to help deliver the technology across Australia. Veritech Australia consider themselves the new breed of distributors, since they are more focused on value-added pre-sales consultancy and design services than merely pushing boxes.

In addition to the SecureServer, there will be demonstrations of live wireless networks, voice-over-IP solutions. Guest speakers will include Livio Mazzon, Technical Director of Veritech Australia, Michael Calculli, Country Manager for SMC Networks. There will also be a guest appearance by Darren De Bortoli, Managing Director of De Bortoli Wines, who will be presenting a testimonial on how an old art such as winemaking is now highly dependent on current day technologies.
