Department of Industry Supports Mining Ideation Event

Announcement posted by RIIT 11 Dec 2013

Prototype solutions to industry problems in just a weekend?
RIIT will bring the first resources industry focussed ideation event to Perth in 2014 with the support of the Australian Government Department of Industry.

On receiving word of the Department of Industry sponsorship, RIIT Director Justin Strharsky said, "We're thrilled and grateful to have the Department of Industry's support for our collaborative approach to quickly prototyping solutions to industry problems."

What is an Ideation Event?

Sometimes known as “Hackathons”, ideation events are:
54 hour long, high-energy events
Software developers, designers, and industry insiders come together to brainstorm, form teams, and build solutions.
The quickest and least risky way to prototype solutions to your industry problems!

Events such as these are growing in popularity as a means for organisations to solve problems or quickly develop new ideas for new technology-based products and services. They bring together software devolopers, business specialists, and subject matter experts for an intense event, usually run over a weekend.

The RIIT event is expected to lower the barriers to experimentation and innovation, and expedite the development of proof-of-concept solutions to mining sector problems.
