Hotel Group Sells Hawthorn Pub - Connolly Hospitality

Announcement posted by Connolly Hospitality 16 Dec 2013

Barkers Hotel Hawthorn (formerly known as the Beehive Hotel) changed hands in early December. The business was purchased by an independent Melbourne hotel operator who plans to make use of the pub's (empty) second storey.
The new operators agreed to purchase the hotel in September and took over on Monday 2nd December. Having previously ran a well regarded pub in West Melbourne, new owner Kris plans to settle into the business before making any major changes saying "Its business as usual for the pub at this stage".

Selling agent Pat Connolly of Connolly Hospitality comments "Barkers Hotel has plenty of potential for growth and improvement - the vacant second storey is a blank canvas, it could be an impressive function space, private dining or offices".

Connolly Hospitality have several other Melbourne pubs on their books including the Prince Alfred Hotel Carlton, the North Fitzroy Arms and the Dan O'Connell Hotel. "We're getting strong interest in pubs around Melbourne at the moment - the Railway Hotel South Melbourne and the Gasometer Hotel Collingwood were sold last month and are due to settle in January, then we have another two scheduled in February and one in March" says Connolly.
