Hunter Valley’s Glandore Estate Wines outshines the competition in China

Glandore Estate Wines, a leading Hunter Valley wine producer, is delighted to add the title of Most Successful Producer of Show to their growing list of accolades, overcoming strong competition from major wine producing countries at the 2013 ProWine China Exhibition, held in Shanghai in November.

‘2013 ProWine China’ was a collaborative effort from the well-known ProWein Exhibition organisers, Messe Düsseldorf Group, and China International Exhibitions. This expansion of the acclaimed European wine and spirits trade show has resulted in an increasing international focus and reach to the Asian wine market. In 2013, the ProWine China Exhibition debuted in Shanghai to over 7,650 trade visitors with 570 exhibitors from 30 nations including Australia, France, Italy, New Zealand, Spain and more.

Glandore Estate Wines’ excelled at the Exhibition, taking home one Gold Medal, four Silver Medals and the “Most Successful Producer” Award, no small feat with 570 international exhibitors present. Medal winning wines were Glandore Estate’s 2009 Ward Shiraz, 2010 Hamish Shiraz, 2010 TPR Tempranillo, 2010 DPJ Chardonnay and 2011 Elliott Semillon.

Glandore Estate Wines General Manager and Winemaker Duane Roy, exclaims “The 2013 ProWine China Exhibition was a rich opportunity to showcase our premium Australian wines to emerging international markets. Our results at the Exhibition were an added bonus and we’re thrilled and very proud to not only have come home with new international relationships but also the title of ‘Most Successful Producer’ which is a bit of a coup for Australian wine and the Hunter Valley.

For the past eighteen months, Glandore Estate has been catering to the Chinese market with wines that exhibit boutique quality at mainstream prices, right across their range. The family owned and run Estate saw the opportunity to put a ‘face to a brand’ by opening a Shanghai cellar door in January 2013, further demonstrating its integrity and commitment to the Chinese market.

Established in 2005, Glandore Estate is a boutique winery located in the foothills of Brokenback Mountain Range the Lower Hunter Valley.
