2013 Trip Advisor Traveller's Choice Awards recognises Surfers Paradise as a great place to holiday

According to the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2013 awards, Surfers Paradise was voted one of the top five ‘destinations on the rise’. This is hardly surprising considering it combines sun, surf and shopping?

Its name is self-explanatory and the destination is a haven of high rises, sunny beaches, nightclubs, museums, theme parks and more. It’s a haven of unlimited opportunity...

Though it may be cliche, there are so many different things to see and do in Surfers Paradise that there's something for everyone; the fun and excitement will never end. Whether you want to hit the beach with your family, or take an AquaDuck tour around Surfer's, or visit the famous Q1 (especially the Skypoint at the very top), or go jet-boating with some mates, there's always something exciting going on around Surfers.

For the shoppers, Cavill Avenue is the heart of Surfers Paradise, comprising of an abundance of small boutiques just minutes from the beach. It's also the only place in Queensland where every night, tourists are able to enjoy late night shopping. Many well-known shops such as City Beach, Priceline, EB Games, Strandbags, Sportsgirl, Cotton On, Novo, Gucci, Prada, Lorna Jane, RipCurl, Adidas and many more can be found along the streets of Cavill Avenue.

As for the kids, the last thing on your mind should be worrying about how to keep them busy and prevent the infamous "I'm bored" line. There are tonnes of fun attractions which will entertain them for hours and keep them busy. Some of the all-time favorites are Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Infinity, Timezone, Dracula's Haunted House, Seaworld Theme Park, Surfers Paradise Tenpin and the 7D Cinema. The attractions in Surfers meet any personality and will not fail to impress and thrill the kids, and most importantly, leave them wanting to come back for more.

After dark, the nightclubs and party hot spots in Surfers are endless. Like the lyrics to Cee Lo Green's 'Bright Lights, Bigger City' song, "you can feel the electricity all in the evening air" along the streets of Surfers Paradise at night. Some of the 'hottest' hotspots are Sin City, Club Liv, Vanity, Elsewhere Bar and Shuffle Nightclub, where the anticipation and excitement never ends.

As for accommodation, there are literally hundreds of hotels, motels, resorts and apartments in Surfers to choose from. Some of our suggestions include Viscount Towers on the Beach, Surf Parade Resort, Surfers Paradise Mariott Resort and Spa, Vibe Hotel Gold Coast and the Watermark Hotel and Spa.

Even if you’re in Surfers Paradise for just a day, there’s so much excitement and entertainment that’s sure to impress you and the millions of other people who visit each year. So what are you waiting for?
