Your foot in the door... Guaranteed!

Happy New Year! It’s the time of year where we pull out our pen and paper and start to plan for the next 12-months and beyond. Be more organised, improve our fitness, spend more time with the kids, start a new career!!!

If a new career is high on your list for 2014 and you love keeping fit, working with people and helping them to achieve their goals then the fitness industry may just be the perfect industry for you!

Australian Fitness Academy has been qualifying Personal Trainers for 21-years and has seen the industry boom, especially over the past 5-years.

“The fitness industry is very dynamic and many Personal Trainers are enjoying a full-time career in an industry they are passionate about. Many people gain their Personal Training qualifications and then move into an area of specialty, whether it be pre & post natal exercise, boxing, boot camps, strength & conditioning, functional training and so on” said Steve, AFA National Manager. The industry is now so diverse that Trainers are choosing to narrow in on their areas of interest and better meet the needs of their clients.

Gaining your Personal Training qualifications (Certificate III & IV in Fitness) is the first step towards commencing your new career. The qualifications are really just a starting point however and it’s important for students to gain as much industry experience as possible.

“At AFA our focus is to expose students to the industry as much as possible. All students complete work placement, have access to industry networking forums & professional panels, and are guaranteed interviews with industry leading employers such as Fitness First, Goodlife, Genesis, Fernwood, On Board Spa and EFM. If students are studying with the aim to start their own business then this is also covered extensively throughout the Personal Training course” said Steve.

Many graduates end up working in the same facility where they carried out their work placement. “This is why the placement is such an important part of the educational delivery. It really sets our graduates up for a direct entry into the industry. For those who do not gain employment through placement, we further support them through the guaranteed interviews,” said Steve.
