Announcement posted by Leverage PR 06 Feb 2014

Seeley International is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Göran Roos to its Board of Directors, as it continues to expand its dominant presence across Australian and International commercial and residential air conditioning and heating markets.

Seeley International founder and Executive Chairman, Mr Frank Seeley AM said Prof. Roos joined the Board with an extensive and impeccable track-record of advising businesses on sustainable growth programs in diverse and challenging global markets.

“As an industry leader, Seeley International takes great pride in attracting only the best people, and that equally applies to our Board of Directors - so we are exceptionally pleased to be able to welcome Prof. Roos and look forward to his influence on the future successes of our great company,” Mr Seeley said.

“Prof. Roos has a CV that reads like the who’s who of business success and in addition to being well-respected for his global experience in productivity, he has been the SA Thinker In Residence, and only recently was recognised by the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) as giving one of its most influential speeches on the future of manufacturing in Australia,” he said.

“He has a strong understanding of the strategic challenges and opportunities facing our industry, and the need for Australian manufacturers to refocus their efforts on innovation and automation so they remain sustainable and competitive for many years to come.”

Prof. Roos welcomed his new Board appointment and said he was pleased to have the opportunity to contribute at the highest level of such a successful Australian company with strong international trading links.

“It is fantastic to be offered a Board position in a business that serves as a role model for others, and Seeley International sets the benchmark through its strong commitment to research and development, its global outlook, its ability to work through complex issues, and its skilled workforce,” Prof. Roos said.

“Seeley International is a company that is poised for even greater success and I believe my background, experience, outlook and contacts will add value to what is already a highly competent and experienced management team,” he said.

“When it comes to manufacturing, Australia needs to understand where we want to be and recognise that we still have opportunities to open and expand in global markets by offering high value, high complexity products – and doing it well.”

“Seeley International is the perfect example of how a local company can develop as a global market leader, and I look forward to being able to share my strategic perspectives through my new Board role and be part of the next chapter for this Australian company,” he said.

In addition to having held managerial positions in overseas electronics, manufacturing, software and consulting firms, Professor Roos is founder of ICS Ltd. (London), co-founder of AssetEconomics (New York), Co-founder of B+I STRATEGY Sarl (Bilbao) and co-founder of The Performance Prism Ltd. (Cambridge). He also chairs the Advanced Manufacturing Council in Adelaide, is a member of the Economic Development Board, the Council for Flinders University and CSIRO’s Manufacturing Sector Advisory Council. As well as that, Prof. Roos fulfils ongoing academic roles with numerous Universities across Australia, Asia Pacific and Europe.

He has previously worked in more than 50 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Russia, and is now based in Adelaide. He is expected to take up his new Board position later this month.
