OKI launches five toner LED printer for business

Announcement posted by Comworth 12 Feb 2014

Office-based digital printing technology has taken a leap forward with the introduction of the OKI C900 Printer Series. Local distributorComworth Technologies says the new machines are a game changer, closing the gap between printers and copiers and giving all businesses the ability to produce their own high quality print material.

Consisting of a family of three devices to meet varied budgets and needs, the OKI C900 Series delivers innovative features and functionality, with advanced media handling that includes transparent paper, magnets, banners and heavyweight card stock. As a result, these compact units are set to revolutionise office and commercial printing, says Paul Francois, product manager atComworth.

ES9541_34_with_2nd_tray_HCF_tcm3-157785“These A3 machines go far beyond the capabilities of traditional digital colour printers, with the C941dnfeaturing an industry-first LED five station toner configuration that supports white or clear spot colour printing,” says Francois.

He says the C911dn,C931dn, and class-leadingC941dn were developed to meet a wide range of graphic arts as well as commercial printing needs.

Key to the enhanced performance of these devices is OKI proprietary Single Pass Colour technology which allows for faster print speeds, superior colour resolution and registration, and expanded media handling capabilities. The Multimedia Production Platform allows users to expand input and output capabilities with the addition of options which include an EFI Fiery XF server, high capacity feeders and other supplemental hardware.

EFI Fiery is a raster image processor (RIP) and colour management workflow solution for wide- to superwide-format production. It provides accurate colour management, with advanced spot- and process-colour optimisation, to achieve precise and predictable quality prints.

The C900 Series deliver print speeds of up to 50 pages per minute and toner yields of up to 38,000 pages, delivering fast and cost-effective output coupled with OKI’s recognised reputation for reliability. Paper weights of up to 360gsm simplex and 320gsm duplex in up to SRA3 sizes can be printed.

The recommended monthly print volume of 25,000 pages is indicative of the heavy duty for which these machines are designed, capable of meeting the needs of large, demanding workgroups as well as short run production.

“These new printers underscore OKI’s technological leadership and ability to deliver innovative, high functioning and high quality printing solutions to an evolving marketplace,” Francois notes.

The OKI C900 Series consists of:

  • The C941dn. With its five station toner configuration (cyan, magenta, yellow and black, plus white or clear in the fifth position), this is the first LED printer in its class to offer white or clear spot colour printing, ideal for clear, coloured or glossy stocks. Together with the C931dn, it supports an optional EFI Fiery XF server.
  • The C931dn. Designed for large workgroups and office use, it offers full colour, high resolution printing capabilities, and handles a wide range of media for maximum output flexibility at a low total cost of ownership (TCO). In fact, the TCO for the C931dn is 25 percent lower versus comparable models.
  • The C911dn, which offers improved speed, print quality and performance over its predecessor for general office use. As with all C900 Series models, the C911dn features a more robust chassis, improved user interface featuring a high resolution colour LCD display, and higher capacity toners for a low cost per page.

Francois says the C900 Series delivers short run production-grade printers at a price which allows businesses to bring on-demand colour printing capabilities in-house. “These machines are ideal for companies that require high-quality output, media handling flexibility, and colour consistency. Jobs which until recently would have to be sent to specialist printing houses can now be done on-site, saving time and money – and helping graphics-intensive businesses to achieve a competitive edge,” he concludes.

OKI. Clever Printers.
