Hyperion Celebrates Customer Success with Business Intelligence Platform

Announcement posted by Hyperion Solutions 14 Apr 2005

American Suzuki, Booz Allen Hamilton, Continental Airlines and Vodafone Australia Achieve Enterprise Business Performance Management through Dashboards, Management Reporting and Advanced Analytics
Hyperion (Nasdaq: HYSL) will mark more than a year of breakthroughs in Business Intelligence at Solutions 2005, the companys global conference and the worlds premier event for Business Performance Management, taking place in New Orleans April 10-13.
In the past year, Hyperion has introduced interactive dashboards that are both easy-to-use and deploy, and allow users to quickly drill through to source data and unveil insights that can improve their business performance. Hyperion has also created a new approach to management reporting that seamlessly blends financial and operational reporting with advanced analytics. Customers are taking advantage of these innovations for on-demand reporting, dynamic planning and forecasting, more strategic modelling and to get greater confidence in financial reporting.
Companies adopt the Hyperion Business Intelligence Platform because they demand a fresh and innovative approach to reporting and analysis that delivers increased value and business impact, said Russell Evans, Managing Director, Hyperion Australia & New Zealand. Our interactive dashboards are fundamentally changing the way our customers manage their businesses by giving them a new dimension of insight and performance visibility. Our reporting solution liberates customers from the strain of switching between relational and multidimensional data sources to answer varying degrees of pressing business questions. The Hyperion Business Intelligence Platform is the only one that uniquely provides such benefits.
Hyperions interactive dashboards are fully customisable, cost-efficient and easy to build, requiring no additional IT resources.
Booz Allen Hamilton, a global strategy and technology consulting firm that provides services to major international corporations and government clients around the world, is taking advantage of advanced analytics from the recently released Hyperion Essbase 7X, the advanced analytics component of the Hyperion Business Intelligence Platform and the only powerful and highly scalable analytic engine available for both finance and line of business users.
Continental Airlines, the world's sixth-largest airline, is using Hyperion Business Intelligence Platform to perform reporting and analysis on data contained in its Teradata enterprise data warehouse. Continental Airlines selected Hyperion because it is easy to learn for novice users and robust enough to meet complex reporting demands for sophisticated applications. Hyperion is the only Business Intelligence tool used within the data warehouse.
Non-technical decision-makers receive Hyperion reports via email or pull pre-built reports from Continentals Web report server while more experienced users can build their own reports from data models created by the data warehousing team. Continental also uses Hyperion to generate reports that are accurate facsimiles of a paper ticket, which streamlines their method of billing other airlines and researching customer refunds.
Another customer, Vodafone Group Plc, a leading mobile communications company that provides more than 25 percent of the worlds mobile phone service, has deployed Hyperion dashboards to deliver operational information via the Web 24 hours a day to contact centre staff members within its Australian operation. Hyperion provides Vodafones more than 800 Australian contact centre staff members with performance visibility on demand through dashboards that facilitate quick and easy access to daily statistics on number and length of calls, employee break times and call duration.
Instead of running 40 separate reports, we can now deliver just two reports to our end users, giving them the flexibility to pull the data that meets their exact requirements, said Robert Rainbird, business reporting manager for Vodafone Australia. With Hyperion, not only is the analysts time freed up, but our users also have an intuitive way to access, and more importantly, analyse their data with ease. The users control what they see, when they need it.
Our customers are achieving great success but were not resting on our laurels, Russell Evans said. Rather, were going to continue the pace of innovation by even more effectively merging the worlds of analytics and reporting together. The customer benefit will be tremendous.
