St Virgil’s College Launches New Smartphone-Ready Web and Sports Sites

St Virgil’s College now owns two of the most advanced technology websites of all schools in Tasmania, perhaps even in Australia, Mr Draschkowitz, Managing Director of Auscomp said. The sites are already averaging over 1,000 visits on some days, and around 40% of those are from tablet and mobile users. Both sites are now proving to be a tremendous asset and gateway for the College. They’re already an invaluable communication tool between parents, students and staff. 

The separate sports website will ultimately form part of the curriculum, so students will have the added benefit and “life skill” of learning how to manage and maintain a website by keeping it up-to-date and posting real-time results, latest news, photos and videos etc…

Each of the 30 sports for both campuses (Junior and Senior) has its own section, and the process of choosing and signing up for a sport each term is just a click of a button for parents. It also makes the administration for the Sports Director a process of minutes, rather than days, to create the teams, rosters and lists. There’s also a game on/off feature giving parents real-time information about ground sites and possible game cancelations and last minute changes.
