Webinars - the new small business marketing strategy

It was a single chapter in a book that changed the course of Brisbane-based Juan Salazar’s life after he moved here from Cali in Colombia to start a new life.

Not long after reading this book, Juan, an industrial engineer, ending up a seminar where he meet webinar expert Steven Essa.

“I was working at a fruit shop because it gave me the flexibility to work on my internet marketing business,” Juan said.

“So Steven’s workshop was an ideal resource for me.”

One of the highlights of Essa’s workshop is where he pick a member of the audience (a complete novice) to work with him over the weekend to deliver and develop a webinar of their own.

Juan said Steven asked if there were any experts in the room. “I sat there and did not raise my hand.  I totally discounted the knowledge I had about internet marketing; I did not see myself as an expert,” he said.

“For some reason, I ended up raising my hand. I told Steven I had a YouTube channel that has more than 1m views and I can show people how to do that.”

Unlike many other attendees at an Essa workshop, Juan made nothing.

“It was my first presentation in front of a live audience in a language that is not my first and we did not do it on my original topic,” he said.

“But at the end, people gathered around me to thank me.  That was when the door opened for me.”

Juan has not looked back.  Now an Australian citizen, his business Video Marketing Mix is booming, thanks to the power of webinars.

Steven Essa said webinars are a conversion generating machine if done right.

“A well-run webinar can deliver a 10 per cent conversion rate,” he said.

“Compare that with a measly one percent from a website.

“Webinars are seriously underrated despite playing a leading-edge role in meeting the communications needs of businesses and organisations.”

Steven said webinars are what teleconferencing was to business 10 years ago.

“They are cheap to run and can connect a business to a larger audience than just running a face-to-face seminar.”

“Webinar marketing is a powerful way to significantly increase sales revenue in short space of time.”

Steven Essa has been teaching people how to utilise webinars for five years.

“There are people earning tens of thousands of dollars after doing a single webinar,” he said.

“We are not talking about experienced internet marketers, but every day mums and dads.

“It is just all about finding your niche and trusting in your expertise because there are people out there who are time poor and want the information you have.”
