D-Link introduces a range of powerful antennae for 802.11b wireless networks

Announcement posted by D-Link Australia 16 May 2002

D-Link, a designer and manufacturer of wireless networking, connectivity and communications technologies, today introduced five antennae that increase the range and signal strength of high performance 2.4GHz, IEEE 802.11b compliant wireless networks.

Now available in Australia and New Zealand, the new D-LinkAir 2.4GHz antennae range from an indoor omni-directional ceiling antenna, which delivers a spherical polarisation within a 500 metre range at 5 (dBi) of signal gain, to an extremely powerful outdoor high gain directional yagi antenna, which covers up to 5.5km at 18dBi of signal gain.

Targeted mainly at business, some of these new antennae have rooftop station point capability and are constructed with weatherproof and corrosion resistant material for maximum durability for business environments, said Maurice Famularo, marketing manager of D-Link Australia and New Zealand.

With the variety in design, these new robust antennae from D-Link give our customers more flexibility when planning and building a network using wireless technology.

Each of these antennae is designed for use with wireless adapters, access points and wireless gateways with Reverse Polarity Sub-Miniature A (RP-SMA) male connectors, such as those found on the D-LinkAir series of wireless solutions.

With the addition of these new 802.11b antennae to the already extensive line of 2.4GHz D-LinkAir 802.11b wireless solutions, small to medium businesses are now able to get complete high-performance, affordable wireless networking solutions all from D-Link.

The New D-LinkAir Antennae
