Celebrate a hardworking Harvest at Canberra’s Wine Harvest Festival

Join a celebration of the wine harvest in and around the famed Canberra Wine District this April at the annual “Wine Harvest Festival”. On 5-6 April, the District will showcase its ‘liquid geography’ during a wonderful autumn weekend full of cool climate wine, feasting temptations and live entertainment set in Canberra’s picturesque vineyards.

 

Meet some of the makers of the Canberra District’s nationally and internationally recognised wines at their own cellar door as they share the fruits of harvest, enjoy guided tours, and taste the latest wines from a region renowned for its diversity of geography and variety. 

Participating Canberra wineries and producers include Affleck Vineyard, Barton Estate, Brindabella Hills Winery, Capital Wines, Dionysus Winery, Four Winds Vineyard, Gallaghter Wines, Granitevale Estate, Gundog Estate, Jeir Creek Wines, Lerida Estate, Little Bridge Wines, McKellar Ridge Wines, Mount Majura Vineyard, Murrumbateman Winery, Pankhurst Wines, Poacher’s Pantry, Shaw Vineyard Estate & Flint in the Vines, Surveyor’s Hill & Pomegranate Bistro, Tallagandra Hill and Yarrh Wines.

Experience each winery’s unique take on the 2014 Festival including live jazz at Brindabella Hills Winery, local craft markets at Tallagandra Hill, traditional French farmhouse harvest dishes at Yarrh Wines and beautiful art exhibitions at Barton Estate and Shaw Vineyard Estate. This year, for the first time, there will be a Wine Harvest Festival Sneak Peak with a select handful of Canberra District wineries heading to A.Baker in NewActon on Thursday 3rd April from 5:30-7pm, giving an exclusive preview of what’s in store for the Festival in the days following. Winemakers will each select a couple of their top tipples for you to taste in one of Canberra’s newest hot spots. A.Baker’s underground bar is the perfect setting to enjoy the finest wines matched with local produce and charcuterie.
