Ocean Club Resort Opens New Doors

Friends, family, and the wider community will have the opportunity to sample five-star living on Saturday, 19 April as Lake Cathie’s over-55’s community, Ocean Club resort, throws the doors open for its Easter Open Day.

From 10am – 2pm, members of the public can experience life at Ocean Club Resort by inspecting the world-class facilities such as the championship bowling green, cinema, pool and tennis court, and being shown around the resort by current residents.

A barbeque luncheon will also be served from 11:30am – 1:30pm in the multi-million dollar 750sqm clubhouse, allowing everyone the chance to mingle and giving the public a real taste of the social, friendly community that Ocean Club Resort is home to.

John Gilmour, the Co-Developer and Director of Huntingdale Properties, says timing of the Open Day was key.

“We chose Easter Saturday because there will be lots of families visiting the region, thinking about the advantages of living in a secure senior’s community,” he explains.

“This seems like a good opportunity to welcome anyone who has not visited the resort previously, and show them what we’ve got to offer.”

The Open Day will include the newly completed northern stage of the development, which features the new two-bedroom ‘Byron’ home, available for viewing for the first time.

“While the feedback on the previous Byron floor plan was very positive, we have tweaked the design to allow for more room,” says John.

“The new design will provide greater space in the kitchen & living room, where most time is spent. The double garage has also been enlarged to provide extra space.”

Since opening in December 2012, Ocean Club Resort has grown rapidly to become the home of nearly 100 younger active retirees. To keep up with demand, building and construction work has increased with up to 80 tradesmen on site at any one day.
