RequestVPN Lite provides secure national access to any newor existing VPN network
Request Broadband Pty Ltd (Request), a leading Australian broadband services provider, has launched its latest VPN offering. Ten months after launching its flagship and award winning VPN solution, RequestVPN, Requests RequestVPN Lite features a price point that is a welcome communications solution for teleworkers, low volume users and small retail outlets needing to access a company network.
RequestVPN Lite is the latest addition to the RequestVPN product family and is part of a suite of functionality coming in the next few months with our second phase of VPN developments, said Phil Sykes, Request CEO. RequestVPN Lite provides secure national access to any new or existing VPN at an extremely competitive price.
As an entry-level, affordable but secure high-speed connection to a private enterprise network, RequestVPN Lite is ideal for after hours network applications such as scheduled back-up or the production of end-of-day reports. RequestVPN Lite complements Requests RequestVPN product by providing related security and privacy capability at a cost-effective price. Internet access is also available as an option.
Requests service providers have welcomed the addition of RequestVPN Lite to their stable of Request developed Next Generation broadband IP networking services. Tim Watson, CEO of Activ, one of Request's Gold Channel Partners, said, "The organisations we have signed up to provision found it to be the right combination of speed and low cost. Because inter and intra office data volumes are low for these organisations and the cost is sub $100 per month, the business decision to implement was easy."
RequestVPN Lite enables users to connect to their corporate network from home without entering the public Internet providing secure national access into company VPNs without the need for encryption.
Three packaged options, with monthly fee bundling VPN and Internet usage, are available. The All you can eat VPN access during a generous after hours period of 6.00 pm to 8.00 am is a standard product feature. RequestVPN Lite 1 and 2 meet the needs of businesses providing remote access to employees, teleworkers and small businesses undertaking after hour network applications. RequestVPN Lite 3 is the more cost effective alternative for low volume users.
Request is currently expanding its network with the addition of 38 exchanges. The first four new exchanges are due for completion in June 2003. By June 2004, Request will be delivering services from over 145 business-grade exchanges. This includes an additional 55 exchange areas now available as a result of the Request/Optus reciprocal network sharing arrangement entered into in December 2002.
