ECAL partners NFL teams for season schedule launch

Patriots, Bears, Redskins go bang!

National Football League (NFL) teams including New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins  launched their season schedules with a bang using ECAL precision marketing.

ECAL is the precision marketing platform, that connects publishers to the personal calendar of their consumers. ECAL gave Patriots, Bears and Redskins fans the ‘jump’ on others, with exclusive game information, 'rich' details and features, plus direct access to tickets, TV and more - all delivered to their personal calendar of choice.

Teams launched their new season schedule with highly effective pre-launch and launch promotions, asking fans to ‘mark their calendar’ via news features, official press releases, email, SMS and social media. Teams placed an eCal ‘box’ widget on the home page of their website, on various other pages, directed traffic to their official eCal page, and integrated eCal into their mobile app and Facebook.

Last season, the Patriots eCal generated over 100 million calendar activities, along with hundreds of thousands of dollars in high value sales and engagement.

Launching for the first time in 2014, the Redskins eCal has been hugely popular. Within just hours of launch, and with some excellent  promotion, over 10,000 fans had subscribed, 38% choosing to subscribe to their smartphone calendar, at 96% opt-in rate, and generating over 60,000 calendar activities.
