Geelong entrepreneurs meetup to help each other

Announcement posted by Infotech Marketing & Communications Pty Ltd 24 May 2014

Small businesses share experience for mutual gain

Twenty five people representing a range of entrepreneurial small businesses in the Geelong region have launched a group to exchange experiences and ideas about how to build their enterprises in a post-industrial environment.

Expressions of interest from more than 50 people in the region so far have convinced organiser Mr Aamir Qutub that the Geelong Entrepreneurs Group should enjoy success similar to a group he established in India before he relocated to Geelong.

“There are groups like this in Melbourne but I believe the Geelong business community needs a local focus,” he said.

A landscape architect, physiotherapist, GP, e-business consultant, academic writer and a wedding planner were indicative of people in small, often one-person enterprises who wanted to exchange ideas to grow their businesses. They were among the 25 people who attended the inaugural networking meeting.

A business broker from Melbourne spoke at the meeting and outlined how the adoption of e-commerce had streamlined the operations of his small company.

His experience illustrated the sorts of benefits that a networking group can present to people in an informal environment.

The next meeting of the Group will be held at 6pm Thursday June 19.
