Dataweave Acquires Database Services Provider

Dataweave (www.dataweave.com.au), an IT consultancy which specialises in enterprise applications and Oracle database solutions, has today announced the acquisition of The Portcullis Group, an IT managed services provider that specialises in database related managed services.

Dataweave offers a range of 24 x 7 remotely managed support services for enterprise applications and database technologies. The acquisition of The Portcullis Group brings additional employees, software technologies and clients to Dataweave. Both The Portcullis Group and Dataweave are privately owned companies, and the cost of the transaction has not been disclosed.

Clay Barker will join Dataweave as part of the merger, and has been appointed as Dataweave’s National Sales Manager. Clay Barker is currently NSW president for the Australian Oracle User Group, and has previously worked as the sales manager for Vindaloo Systems and The ASG Group.

In addition, Michael Taylor has been appointed as Enterprise Architect. He has worked as a specialist database consultant for 20 years, with roles at IBM, Reuters, and Oracle.

The Portcullis Group has a range of existing enterprise managed services clients, including Mitsubishi Development, Challenger Financial, Optus and Auscott.

Founded in 2008, Dataweave has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. To accommodate recent increased demand for database related consultancy and support services, Dataweave recently moved its head office to larger premises in St Leonards, and established a Business Intelligence practice.
