Intersystems grows with Darwin

Announcement posted by Intersystems Group 20 Jun 2014

Darwin International Airport (DRW), Intersystems oldest customer of 29 years, has selected Intersystems to supply the hardware and services required to extend their Flight Information Display System (FIDS) as part of their ongoing Terminal Expansion Project (TXP).

To fulfill the project, Intersystems will be supplying 87 NEC displays, 87 Intersystems GMC8 OPS controllers and a combination of custom fabricated housings and off-the-shelf mounts. In addition, a range of system services will be supplied to update the FIDS so it's ready to handle the additional displays.

"The project is scheduled for delivery within the calendar year and will be delivered in a phased approach," commented Richard Allen, Services Manager Asia Pacific.

The TXP project at Darwin Airport will see the terminal expanded at both its eastern and western ends and the redevelopment of many areas within the existing terminal.

"As our oldest customer, we've worked with Darwin over the past 29 years to ensure they stay at the forefront of technology and we're proud to be a part of their current growth," commented Bruce Allen, CEO of Intersystems.

"As the fly-through video shows, the major works being done throughout the terminal will prepare Darwin International Airport for the future ensuring the airport continues to be a key infrastructure asset for Australia."
