Australian technology hub to host crowd of inventors, entrepreneurs, engineers

It's a 'hackathon' event but broader than most, with entrepreneurs, VCs and designers. Please note, when we say 'hackathon', we mean 'hackers' as programmers, not as criminals who break into things! It's a nickname from the software industry. Amazon sponsored last years event, and planning is now underway for the 3rd annual Wollongong Hackathon event, simply named "Hackagong 2014"

Many million dollar ideas come out of these events, and large tech corporations and venture capitalists like to keep their on eyes on them to unearth new talent and technology breakthroughs.

This year's Hackagong event will be hosted by the University of Wollongong in late November. For the 3rd year running, Nathan Waters and his team of volunteers and students are putting together what they hope will be the biggest and best Hackathon event Australia has ever seen.
