Nanjing goes live ahead of 2014 Youth Olympic Games

With the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games only 33 days away, a smooth transition from old to new terminals at the Nanjing Lukou International Airport (NKG) was crucial in Nanjing City's final preparations for the games and in what's become a tradition, In

Intersystems Rapid Suite, used by Nanjing International Airport for the management and display of flight information, was successfully cutover into live operation as part of the wider terminal switchover on July 12. 

"On July 12, operations at Nanjing International Airport were smoothly transitioned from the existing T1 terminal to the newly finished T2 terminal without any major setbacks," commented Simon Fu, Intersystems Operations Manager, Asia. 

As the opening ceremony for the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games draw closer, scheduled for the 16 August, a smooth and successful cutover was crucial in ensuring that arriving athletes, trainers and spectators were informed as they transited through the airport.  

Delivering a mission critical airport system ahead of a major, global sporting event has become an Intersystems trademark having previously delivered systems directly ahead of the 1998 San Diego Super Bowl, the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics, the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
