Gratex takes out Innovation of the Year Award

Gratex International has been awarded the Innovation of the Year award at the 2014 Australian Insurance Industry awards. The awards, hosted by the Australian Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), unite all sectors of the insurance industry to celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations.

Working together with PetSure Australia, Gratex implemented the UPM system – the comprehensive insurance business management system developed by Gratex for insurers in Australia and New Zealand. The enterprise wide system manages the online distribution of pet insurance for 18 brand partners, policy administration and claims processing. The system has supported PetSure through a 600% growth in its customer base. The company processes 32,000 claims every month – in excess of 8% of all general insurance claims.

In what was an exceptionally tight category, Gratex received the award after judges commended the impressive results garnered from the system in 2013.

“To receive this award is an absolute honour,” said Milan Neklapil, Gratex’s managing director who accepted the award. “PetSure had ambitious plans for growth and I am proud of my team for implementing a system that was able to meet their needs. A big thank you must of course go to PetSure for their outstanding vision and trust in Gratex.”

Gratex was also a finalist in the Service Provider to the Insurance Industry category. This was awarded to Taylor Fry, an analytics and actuarial consulting firm.

The event saw over 700 members of the Australian insurance industry in attendance at Sydney’s The Star on what has been dubbed the industry’s night of nights.
