Integrated Research Announces Worldwide Partnership with Motorola

Announcement posted by Integrated Research 25 Aug 2004

Australian systems performance management software developer Integrated Research (ASX:IRI), announced today that Motorola, Inc. has signed a Distribution Agreement to market, supply and implement Integrated Research?s cross-platform PROGNOSIS software as part of its Premier CAD? computer aided dispatch system, designed to manage emergency support services across the U.S.
Motorola?s Public Safety division provides software to support centralised command and control solutions for public safety entities including police, fire and emergency medical services. In this type of critical environment, knowledge and efficiency are crucial. Officers need fast and reliable access to resources and information. Citizens must have their calls taken and actioned quickly. Motorola?s strong intelligence systems, such as Premier CAD, help staff across the U.S. to make the right decisions in real time.
Premier CAD is a state-of-the-art computer aided dispatch system, which computerises the missioncritical dispatching functions for agencies requiring effective information sharing and dispatch within wide area networks. The system is designed to support the multi-agency/multi-jurisdictional networks and large single-agency call centres with dispatch operations. Success in 9-1-1, public safety answering points, emergency medical services, police and fire departments is measured in both seconds and lives saved. The automated capabilities in Premier CAD allow call takers and dispatchers to quickly and efficiently handle incident information. Motorola will now offer Integrated Research?s PROGNOSIS performance management software to support the customer?s ability to proactively monitor and manage the high availability HP NonStop servers that Premier CAD runs on as well as the UNIX dispatcher workstations to ensure the automated dispatch systems are available when and where emergency officers need them.
?Supporting a public safety command and control centre deals with life and death issues. If the automated system goes down, emergency officers are virtually left to manage in the dark -- with less access to information and supporting resource than they are used to or need. It is essential that the computer-aided dispatch is available 24x7 hours. That?s why the combined power of Motorola?s Premier CAD, supported by PROGNOSIS systems performance software, will provide our customers with a proactive approach to deliver the high level of system assurance they demand,? said Meg Infiorati, Business Development Manager, Public Safety, Motorola, Inc.
Combined Strength
Motorola?s distribution status was signed on 13 May 2004. The combined offering will be taken to market in August, featuring a bundled offer. Motorola will be responsible for the initial and primary customer contact, and agreed marketing campaigns, while Integrated Research will manage implementation of PROGNOSIS at the client site.
Vertical Success Through Targeted Distribution Channels
As public safety sites typically run on the HP NonStop platform, the Distribution relationship with Motorola represents access to a significant new market for Integrated Research.
?Because of the critical nature of Motorola?s public safety client sites, additional software must first be approved by Motorola before it can be deployed. By working with Motorola we are able to offer a combined solution that will benefit Motorola?s customer base from the start,? said Steve Killelea, President and CEO, Integrated Research.
?Targeted Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partnerships have always been an important part of our go to market strategy, allowing us to work with experts in specific vertical markets,? Killelea added. ?For example, we have had an ISV partnership with US based IDX Systems Corporation for more than six years and now we share over 40 joint customers in the critical environment of the healthcare industry, including the recently announced PeaceHealth in the U.S.?
