Webspy appoints three new distributors

Announcement posted by WebSpy 09 May 2003

Covers Broad Spectrum of Australian and New Zealand Channel Market
Listed Perth-based Internet and email monitoring specialist WebSpy Ltd (ASX: WSY) today announced the appointment of three new distribution partners for Australia and New Zealand. The partners are Sydney-based Aquion Pty Ltd and WhiteGold Solutions Pty Ltd, and Victoria-based Techplus Distribution.
Instead of opting for an exclusive Australia/New Zealand distributor, we decided to appoint distributors who are all specialist operators, bringing different strengths to our channel operation, said WebSpy CEO Jack Andrys. As a result of these appointments, we expect to increase revenue from the Australian and New Zealand markets through focused sales and marketing activities led by sales of our WebSpy Analyzer/Microsoft ISA integrated solution as well as our enterprise-level solutions.
Value-added distributor Aquion works closely with its channel partners to develop markets for vendors products via marketing programs targeted at end-user customers. To ensure a deep level of representation, Aquion only looks after a small number of vendors including messaging and data storage security product developer PGP Corporation and award-winning legacy integration tool developer WRQ Software. To maximise market penetration, it boasts an impressive 25-strong list of resellers servicing both the Australian and New Zealand marketplaces.
We see a great opportunity to further develop WebSpys share of the enterprise marketplace with our existing channel partners, who are servicing some of Australia and New Zealands largest accounts, said Aquion Managing Director Stephen Balicki. Our customers have high-volume requirements so WebSpys enterprise-level product, Analyzer Giga, in particular, presents a great fit with our current strategies and requirements.
Balicki believes that the WebSpy Microsoft ISA Server bundle provides another significant opportunity for his companys channel partners. Our resellers already provide Microsoft licensing services and security solutions to corporate and government customers across Australasia, he said. The WebSpy bundle can help our channel partners deliver increased value to their customers.
WhiteGold Solutions uses a niche-on-niche approach to value-added distribution, providing niche products into niche markets through its carefully selected resellers. Focusing on security, connectivity and productivity, WhiteGold Solutions has partnered with leading vendors in this space, like Intranode Software Technologies and Stonesoft, to provide true value-added rather than box-drop services. The distributor does this by working closely with a finite number of quality resellers to ensure not only better margins for them, but also better service and support for their customers.
WhiteGold Managing Director Dominic Whitehand believes the partnership with WebSpy will greatly strengthen the distributors already strong security product portfolio, allowing its channel partners to pick and choose from world-class solutions for their customers security needs.
With so much Internet misuse affecting organisations, we can now offer a rock solid suite of solutions enabling companies to take action against this misuse - as well as improve productivity and morale, increase bandwidth efficiency and reduce costs, legal liability and security threats, said Whitehand. With good margins available on the sale of all WebSpy products and with WebSpy being in a niche area of the security market, we believe the company offers fantastic solutions for our resellers to take to their customers.
Techplus Distribution provides data communications and network security products to the IT market via its extensive channel of system integration partners across Australia and New Zealand. These partners have a wide cross-section of customers from home and small offices to giant telecommunications carriers and government departments. Techplus specialises in providing bandwidth and wide-area network management software and hardware products. This is backed up by extensive experience and knowledge to help its partners provide the correct solution.
With our main target markets being high-end system integrators, service providers and telcos, Techplus is well positioned to introduce WebSpy into this relatively new market for the software, said Paul Kern, Techplus Managing Director. Techplus Distribution is excited about the opportunity to provide its channel with WebSpy software and give them the tools to provide better and more accurate information for their customers both large and small.
