Mobileway enables Australian Diners Club holders unprecedented access to their account information via SMS
Mobileway, leader in managing & monetising mobile transactions across the globe, revealed today its partnership with Diners Club Australia to provide the delivery of prompt and secured SMS-based services for Diners Club Australias newly launched Club @lerts service.

Club @lerts is an innovative way for customers to receive up to date account information, the latest news and special offers from Diners Club via e-mail and/or SMS. The service renders the customer the flexibility to choose which information they would like to receive as well as when and how to receive it. The alerts include: account balance, payment reminder, payment past due, payment received, unusual spending, and ethical and non-spamming marketing messages.

We believe we are the first card provider in Australia to offer mobile alerts to customers, giving them unprecedented access to their account information while on the move. Diners Club Australia is using Mobileways unique Global Network capability to simplify the launch of this new SMS-based service, said James Atkins, General Manager Sales and Marketing, Diners Club Australia.

We see tremendous synergy emerging from this alliance as both entities are part of Citigroup, said Atkins. In this case Diners Club Australia is able to leverage developments, expertise and learnings in other business units throughout the world.

Mobileway has an unrivalled global messaging reach achieved through contracted direct connections and bilateral commercial agreements with 88 of the worlds leading mobile network operators. Being carrier agnostic, Mobileway provides Diners Club with a single point of access to true global coverage for Diners Club holders around the world.

The phenomenal success of SMS is clearly evident in the consumers thirst for instant mobile information, commented Cyrille Even, General Manger and Vice President for Mobileway Asia Pacific. True mobile Internet services are becoming a reality as mobile Internet users in the world are projected to grow 18-fold from now to 2005. Our unmatched global positioning within the messaging industry enables us to work with premier vendors like Diners Club to develop mobile data services which their Australian members can access from around the world.
