EFIs eBeam System 3 named Best New Product at 2002 N+I/IT Comdex Exhibition

Announcement posted by Electronics for Imaging 14 Mar 2002

eBeam System 3, Electronics for Imagings new digital whiteboard appliance, was awarded Best New Product Award at the prestigious N+I/IT Comdex exhibition, held at the Sydney Conference and Exhibition Centre last week. With a sleeker, more portable design and improved digital technology, the award-winning eBeam system 3 is the smallest, lightest and most efficient digital whiteboard solution on the market.

The three-day exhibition, jointly organised by Networld+Interop, IT Comdex and the Australian Telecommunications User Group, was one of the largest IT events to be held in Australia.

Each year, exhibitors are invited to compete for the Best Product awards. We are very proud to have been awarded the Best New Product at the show, said Eric Holtsmark, Senior Sales and Marketing Manager for Asia Pacific, EFI. eBeam System 3 was launched in Australia on Feb 26 and has received great reviews. This award further confirms the excellence of our solution.

The eBeam System 3 captures meeting notes and diagrams as they are created on whiteboards and broadcasts them over the Internet or corporate intranet in real-time.

According to the judges, eBeam System 3 delivers an improved and cost effective means of capturing whiteboard information. Electronic whiteboards are dead. eBeam System 3 proves that they are merely an overpriced, under-utilised and outdated method of transferring information. eBeam System 3 converts any regular whiteboard into a medium for capturing, conferencing or recording any scribbles into a computer instantaneously.

Since the eBeam System 3 appliance works with existing whiteboards users have a quick and cost-effective means of updating their equipment for interactive teleconferencing and e-learning, added Holtsmark.

At only five ounces, the hand-sized unit is versatile enough to attach to the corner of any whiteboard or flipchart. It also includes a bracket for optional permanent installations. The eBeam hardware is available in both serial and native USB versions and ships with both Macintosh and PC system software.
The software also includes the eBeam Mouse application, which works with a digital projector to turn the display area into a virtual touchscreen.

Were pleased to have Visionchart as our exclusive distributor in Australia, said Holtsmark. Visioncharts enthusiasm and knowledge were evident during the expo and will continue to be a benefit to eBeam dealers and end-users.
