InConsult To Play A Key Role In NSW Local Government Reform

Announcement posted by InConsult 11 Dec 2014

InConsult, a leading service provider to the NSW Local Government sector, is delighted to be appointed to the Office of Local Government’s ‘Fit for the Future’ Technical Advisory Panel.

‘Fit for the Future’ is an initiative worth up to $1 Billion dollars, initiated by the Office of Local Government to provide support and incentives to help each council become ‘Fit for the Future’.  While final dates for implementation are yet to be defined, all councils must submit a proposal on how they intend to become ‘Fit for the Future’ by 30 June 2015.

InConsult has been approved to assist councils to assess their current operating and strategic positions as well as make recommendations to improve their capacity and performance in the following categories:

Financial Sustainability

Service Delivery and Review

Community Engagement

According to InConsult Managing Director, Tony Harb, “this appointment means InConsult is able to provide expert advice, recommendations and guidance for any New South Wales local council who requires assistance with their proposals for NSW Government’s ‘Fit for the Future’ reform package.”

“Councils will have to submit proposals by the end of this financial year, which doesn’t leave a lot of time to plan and prepare a proposal.”

With over 80 NSW local government clients, councils can be confident of InConsult’s ability to deliver quality, high standard services. InConsult has a highly experienced team of local government experts with demonstrated skills in financial management, services delivery, community engagement and governance to provide support to councils with their proposals.

Councils requiring support with their ‘Fit for the Future’ proposals should contact InConsult directly to discuss their council’s specific needs.
