ADIA President's Award Goes To Trade Show Leader, Simon Taggart

Announcement posted by Australian Dental Industry Association 12 Dec 2014

Mr Simon Taggart of A-dec Australia has received the 2014 ADIA President's Service Award in recognition of his leadership of the ADIA-DEC Dental Exhibitions Committee and efforts to deliver the ADX Sydney dental exhibition.

Providing the leadership that has secured the ADX Sydney dental exhibition’s status as the nation’s premier dental event has earned Mr Simon Taggart of A-dec Australia the 2014 ADIA President’s Service Award. Bestowed annually, this award recognises an employee of an ADIA member business who has rendered exceptional service which sets them apart from the many members who support the work of ADIA.

“As the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of quality dental products, so much of our work relies upon the contribution of dental industry professionals who go above and beyond what can be reasonably expected of them. Simon’s contribution is a great example of such service to ADIA and the broader dental industry,” said Mr Mike Covey, ADIA National President.

Since 2008, Mr Taggart has served as chairperson of the ADIA-DEC Dental Exhibitions Committee which provides guidance to the ADIA Board and executive staff on arrangements for the ADX Sydney dental exhibition. Held biennially, ADX Sydney is the largest healthcare trade show in Australia.

“When an event such as ADX Sydney is convened there are a myriad of competing interests and stakeholders with a diverse range of views. Simon’s leadership and level-headed negotiating approach is a real asset to the ADIA,” Mr Covey said.

As the Marketing Manager at A-dec Australia, Mr Taggart is uniquely positioned to provide insights into ground-breaking marketing techniques for ADIA initiatives to promote the reputation of Australia’s dental industry.

“We look forward to Simon’s ongoing contribution in delivering new initiatives such as the relaunched ADX-Online search portal, which uses intuitive search functions to allow dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals to find products and services offered by ADIA member businesses,” Mr Covey concluded.

Mr Taggart was presented with the ADIA President’s Service Award at the ADIA New South Wales Branch Christmas celebration attended by some seventy representatives from across the state’s dental industry. In 2013 the award was presented to Ms Sandy Junior from Acteon Australia for her contribution as chair of the ADIA-ISC Industry Skills Committee and for stewardship of the widely-acclaimed ADIA Introduction To Dentistry Course.
