A super-star in his native town of Berlin, Germany. A performer with high profile fans such as Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary, Naomi Campbell, Miranda Kerr, Dannii Minogue, Kate Ceberano and P!nk. Wearing more eyeliner than Cleopatra, Sydney based, Hans the Boy Wonder of Berlin is hitting Brisbane for the first time with his new cabaret show Hans: Like a German.
Hans: Like a German will play for one night only, at 7.15pm on Wednesday 11 February 2015 at the Brisbane Powerhouse Theatre. The show forms part of the 11 day MELT Festival of music, cabaret, comedy, circus, visual arts and community panels. Tickets are on sale now.
After a sold out season in the Spiegeltent at the 2014 Adelaide Fringe Festival and critically acclaimed shows at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Hayes Theatre Sydney, Hans will don his trademark hot pants, fishnets, Doc Marten boots, sequins and glitter to perform his signature brand of high-stepping cabaret and comedy for Brisbane audiences. Joining Hans on stage will be his backing dancers, The Lucky Bitches and band, The Ungrateful Bastards.
Hans’ accordion is also rumoured to make a special appearance. Hans holds the current world record for playing 29.5 hours straight of Madonna songs on an accordion (yes, really).
“I can’t wait to get to Brisbane and outshine its famed sunshine in my show,” Hans said.
“I’ve heard a lot of good things about the city including its love of all things German including kranskys and leather Lederhosen – preferably together.
“I can’t promise an authentic German experience at my show but I can promise an all singing, all dancing, and all high kicking experience that Brisbane will not forget easily.”
