ASI Releases 1st Annual Global Association/Not-for-Profit Survey Results

Announcement posted by Advanced Solutions International (Asia-Pacific) 16 Jan 2015

The studies show both association and not-for-profit executives in Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America are concerned about keeping up with mobile demands and reporting/measurement challenges.

Advanced Solutions International (ASI), the largest, privately-owned provider of not-for-profit software in the world, today released its first annual Global Benchmark Reports on Membership and Fundraising Performance.  Based on survey results of 534 membership executives and 326 fundraising  executives across the US, Canada, Asia-Pacific and Europe, the two reports explore key challenges, goals and priorities.  Read the reports at www.advsol.com/MemBenchAP  and www.advsol.com/FundBenchAP

In mid to late 2014, ASI conducted a survey of association/membership organisations as well as not-for-profits to uncover the latest trends in operational performance.  Surveys were distributed via email to senior-level executives at organisations of all sizes and sectors and consisted of 20 questions spanning five primary interest areas:  demographics, performance, technology, website/mobile, and goals.  Key findings included:

Membership Performance

Executives are most challenged by an inability to properly measure member engagement and inadequate reporting tools.  Their top goals relate to increasing member engagement, retention, and new member acquisition, while improving member intelligence/reporting capabilities and enhancing online/mobile self-service are their most pressing priorities.  Other interesting notes include:

---- 40% of all survey participants report they offer no mobile options to their members
---- 67% have seen declining or stagnant retention rates in the past year
---- 32% don't know how their overall engagement rate has changed in the past year

Fundraising Performance

Fundraising professionals are concerned with a lack of mobile and online fundraising capabilities and their inability to adequately measure donor engagement.  Increasing donations, acquiring new donors, and expanding donor engagement are their primary goals.  Their highest priorities relate to accessing better donor intelligence and leveraging online/mobile fundraising opportunities.  Additional findings include:

---- 30% of executives surveyed don’t even know their overall retention rate
---- 45% have declining or stagnant retention rates, yet improving donor retention is not an important priority
---- 40% acknowledge they offer no mobile options while another 29% report they generate up to half of all their donations online
