Stay Forever Young in Ballina

Announcement posted by Feros Care 01 Jan 1970

Combine fitness, fun and friendship with Feros Care’s unique 10-week exercise Forever Young program.

The program is valued at $400, however seniors over 65 years of age can access Forever Young for only $50*.

Feros Care Director of Health and Wellness, Kate Swanton, said the key to feeling good at any age is to stay active, engaged and having fun.

“Our Forever Young program has been developed by qualified physiotherapists, and is specifically tailored to seniors.

“Classes are run by qualified physiotherapists, occupational therapists and exercise physiologists, and focus on improving fitness, flexibility, strength and balance,” she said.

Each hour long class begins with a gentle Tai Chi warm up followed by a range of enjoyable exercises set to music.
The program includes:
  • An initial one-on-one health assessment by a qualified allied health professional  to determine the best level of exercise for each participant. The assessment is confidential and can be done in the participant’s own home.
  • Classes are held for eight weeks at a local community centre or club.
  • Participants exercise to music they love and grew up with
  • A follow up visit by the allied health professional
Ms Swanton said “Participants will find they feel healthier, have better balance, are less stiff and sore and will be able to walk around with greater ease.”

Ballina Forever Young classes are:
  • 5 Feb-26 March: 11am - Lions Hall, Brunswick Street
  • 6 Feb- 27 March: 11am - Ballina Surf Club
  • 3 July- 21 August: 11am - Ballina Surf Club
