Online trader’s premium product & service offering experiencing considerable growth
Auckland, 19 February 2015 – Award-winning leading independent financial services provider CMC Markets New Zealand has strengthened its client offering with the appointment of Sheldon Slabbert as Sales Trader.
Mr Slabbert brings to the role over 15 years of experience in financial markets, foreign exchange and advisory, and a career spanning three continents. He is now charged with managing a diverse suite of CMC Markets’ clients, helping them proactively manage their portfolios and capitalising on opportunities in the market.
“I have always enjoyed the challenges and opportunities presented within financial markets, and am looking forward to working with CMC Markets clients to help them achieve their financial goals. I was attracted to CMC Markets because of its strong reputation and diverse client base, and am looking forward to working with Chris Smith and the team he leads here in Auckland,” Mr Slabbert said.
Mr Slabbert was most recently in business development with Western Union Business Solutions, and prior to this worked at a boutique FX advisory business as well as Auckland-based HIFX, working within its dealing and treasury risk management teams. Before moving to New Zealand, Mr.Slabbert worked as a corporate dealer and business development manager in the foreign exchange industry with Foreign Exchange UK in London. Prior to this, he managed investment products for Metropolitan Life South Africa and gained experience in business development and in money markets.
Commenting on the appointment, CMC Markets New Zealand Managing Director Chris Smith said: “Sheldon has joined the business at a time when we are experiencing considerable growth, with the trans-Tasman operations contributing 25% to the overall Group turnover. Last year alone, the trans-Tasman operations saw a combined 31% increase in the number of trades and a 32% increase in turnover on the previous year.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of CMC Markets, and Sheldon’s skills in the area of technical analysis and depth of knowledge in financial markets, will no doubt help us further strengthen our ability to offer our clients a premium product and exceptional service.
