SA Business Delegation visits Parliament House, Canberra led by Dr Adrian Geering
Dr Adrian Geering has been involved in high-level mentoring and coaching of CEOs and leaders for over 25 years. He is the Chairman and leader of a mastermind group for CEOs through TEC which he established in 1987 in Adelaide, South Australia. Every month he leads a full-day meeting with these high‑performing CEOs (representing $4.5 billion in sales and employing 17,000 staff) and meets monthly with each of them for a confidential coaching session. Members tell him that they make better decisions, get better results and become better people and leaders through this process. He coaches CEOs from both entrepreneurial and corporate backgrounds. He has been recognized both nationally and internationally as a top CEO and Executive coach and mentor. Recently he led a South Australian business delegation of 26 CEOS (all of whom he had mentored and coached) and partners to meet with Senator Bob Day at Parliament House in Canberra.( a person he has coached for 25 years )
After observing question time on the first day, the group went to a private meeting room and spent three hours being addressed by the following 8 Ministers from the cabinet and 3 Senators:
Hon. Joe Hockey MP (Treasurer)
Sen. Hon. Mathias Cormann (Min. for Finance)
Hon. Scott Morrison MP (Min. for Social Services)
Hon. Christopher Pyne MP (Min. for Education & Training)
Hon. Bruce Billson MP (Min. for Small Business)
Hon. Ian Macfarlane MP (Min. for Industry and Science)
Hon. Sussan Ley MP (Min. for Health and Sport)
Hon. Kevin Andrews (Min. for Defence)
Sen. Cory Bernardi
Sen. Nick Xenophon
Sen. Penny Wong
It was amazing that such a wide range of views were covered in such a short space of time. What was evident from the speakers was both the range of skills, experiences, values and outlook they all possessed.
The second day began early with a private tour behind the scenes at Parliament House including Senator Day’s office and suite of facilities. So much to see in such a short time but in a word, suffice to say, how magnificent Parliament House is and how much symbolism! The remainder of the day was absorbed with a business forum. It was a successful two-day event. It had a significant impact on those present. How amazing to witness a person’s life commitment being achieved and the major role we had played in that journey
