Australia is alive with The Sound of Music! To mark the 50th Anniversary of the 1965 box office smash and five-time Academy Award-winning The Sound of Music, some of Australia’s biggest media personalities have come together to create their very own version of the unforgettable musical number Do Re Mi.

Special guests stars include: Guy Sebastian, Shaynna Blaze, Ita Buttrose, Joe Hildebrand, Jessica Rowe, Richard Wilkins, Tim Gilbert, Angela Bishop, Ryan Fitzgerald (Fitzy), Ray Hadley, David Koch, Ben Fordham, Ahron Young, Jonathan Moran, Melissa Hoyer, Michael Wipfli (Wippa), Andrew Reid, Ricardo Goncalves, Lee Lin Chin, Leisel Jones, Kerri-Anne Kennerly.  And of course, no Sound of Music celebration would be complete without children, so The Australian Girls Choir appear throughout the video, demonstrating their incredible vocals.

The video encapsulates the ongoing love and passion fans still have for the film after five decades. Nicholas Hammond who played Friedrich Von Trapp, even makes a special guest appearance, followed by a series of expected (and not so expected) fans of the movie.

The golden anniversary of the film’s premiere will be marked officially on April 22nd, with the release of the 4-disc 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition featuring a limited edition porcelain teacup.  Beautifully restored, the 4-disc 50th Anniversary collection features over 15 hours of bonus content - including the all-new documentary “The Sound of a City: Julie Andrews Returns to Salzburg,” detailing Dame Julie’s recent return to the magical city where she played her most iconic role (Maria).  Also available is a 2-disc Blu-ray edition.
