Aurecon appoints Margaret Cao to lead China operations

Global engineering and technical advisory company Aurecon has appointed Margaret Cao to lead its operations in China.

In her role as Country Manager, China, Margaret will be responsible for Aurecon’s Beijing and Shanghai offices, which focus on delivering technical services in the property, transport and infrastructure markets.

Ben Coxon, Aurecon’s Region Manager for North Asia, said, “Margaret will make an excellent leader for our China offices. Our clients will benefit from her wealth of experience in both business management and project delivery across the diverse regions and industries in China.  Furthermore, she has a proven track record in effective leadership, energising teams to deliver innovative solutions to clients.” 

With over 20 years of experience in engineering and construction in China, Margaret has worked for engineering consultancies and in resident engineering positions within various multinational companies. She also advised international investors entering the China market as well as Chinese companies venturing overseas on project delivery strategy, risk assessment, safety management system and methodology, project and value management practices.

Margaret joins Aurecon from Worley Parsons China, where she was the General Manager of Infrastructure & Environment CSG. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from Tianjin University China. She has a background in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, and engineering management, project management, contract management, and cost planning.
