Acoustic Solution for Roof Top Air Conditioning System

Having successfully installed an AcoustiSorb™ wall for a previous project, Enterprise Data turned to Modular Wall Systems once more. The challenges that needed to be resolved were threefold. Firstly, eliminate complaints from neighbouring residents about the noise generated from their roof top air conditioning system. Secondly, the noise mitigation solution had to be aesthetically pleasing for the business located in Sydney’s thriving Norwest Business Park. Thirdly, a waterproof membrane on the roof top of the multi-level Enterprise Data building could not be punctured or undermined.

After an acoustic assessment by the Modular Wall Systems team, it was determined that a bespoke noise mitigation screen-wall was required. The solution comprised of 75mm panel-link pre-coloured ‘Thredbo White’ smooth skin panels to ensure it comfortably exceeded the noise attenuation required. The quick and efficient one-day installation has resulted in no further noise complaints from neighbouring residents. Modular Wall Systems innovatively devised the noise mitigation screen-wall to be anchored to the existing balustrade support structure to ensure the waterproof membrane was not compromised in anyway.
