Energy Efficiency Lighting for your Gold Coast Home

Announcement posted by Amp'd Electrical & Solar 19 Jun 2015

Did you know that lighting accounts for approximately 12% of electricity usage in households? It’s no wonder when you think about the number of times you find the kids have left every light in the house on! So how do we decrease the contribution of lighting to our power bills? Switch to energy efficient lighting!

Household lighting is one of the most prominent areas where energy savings can be made by switching to energy efficient products. In fact, energy efficient lighting is expected to result in savings of around 30 terawatts of electricity between 2008 and 2020. It is also predicted to save 28 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. That’s the equivalent of taking over 500,000 cars off the road.

To improve the energy efficient savings in your home, both efficient lighting and an understanding of how to create an effective lighting design are necessary. For example, just by swapping your regular incandescent lightbulbs to alternatives such as LEDs, you can noticeably decrease your electricity bill. In addition, you can consider increasing the natural light in your home by installing skylights.
