Grooby family needs to raise $25k for daughter Rachael

Past studies prove that for children, man’s best friend offers so much more than friendship. Even more so for the Grooby family who have launched a crowdfunding campaign via Go Fund Me in a bid to raise $25,000 for their daughter Rachael.

9year-old Rachael has had a tough trot, enduring more hospital visits and ongoing treatment than some adults experience in their entire lifetime.

Despite suffering from epilepsy, migraines, anxiety and being legally blind in her left-eye, Rachael is a real trooper and fighter.

To purchase and train an assistance dog that would make the world of difference to Rachael, the Grooby family needs to raise up to $25,000.

“Like many families, we don’t have a spare $25,000 lying around but we are committed to raising this money. An assistance dog really will do Rachael a world of good and we’ve been overwhelmed by the response from our loved ones so far,” says Belinda Grooby, Rachael’s mother.

The Grooby family is hoping that Rachael’s story will touch strangers who support and relate to their plight to help generate the amount of money needed.

The Go Fund Me campaign was only launched last week and to date, has raised $1,570 for this very special cause.

“We know that for Rachael, an assistance dog will be so much more than a pet so there’s no giving up,” says Belinda.
