IWARD NATIONAL FINALIST: June 26th, Brisbane, Australia…

Last night VM Learning, the creators of one of Australia’s leading student management software systems, took home the prestigious Queensland iAward within the education division, for their innovative features and tools designed to support Australian RTOs and enterprises. The iAwards are hosted by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and have honoured and recognised Australian companies at the cutting edge of technology innovation, for the last 20 years.

aXcelerate is a highly intuitive cloud based system that manages virtually all aspects of the training delivery process for an RTO or training provider, including marketing/CRM, enrolments, course management, progress tracking, quality, resources, certification and reporting. aXcelerate’s mature interfaces also enable seamless integration with a range of popular learning and financial management applications such as Xero and Moodle. These functions ensure that a training provider can efficiently control, coordinate and deliver their training within a single platform, which they can access anywhere at any time.

aXcelerate was originally developed as an internal project within VM Learning, an education provider who offered multiple accredited training programs in the eastern states of Australia. Like many training companies, VM’s business processes were highly labour intensive, particularly in dealing with ever-changing compliance requirements. By becoming early adopters of cloud-based technology in 2000, aXcelerate were able to provide a more efficient way to manage the complexity of a contemporary training business. The system was then launched commercially in 2009 as ‘aXcelerate’.

aXcelerate have now also developed an Enterprise RTO product which enables enterprises that are also RTOs, to manage the learning and development of their staff and issue qualifications in line with Nationally Recognised standards.

The future looks exciting as aXcelerate moves to expand internationally. The global retailer Cotton On Group , has been the most recent of a fast growing corporate client base that wish to extend their training programs overseas. Consequently aXcelerate’s focus will now be on leveraging the skills developed in competency frameworks within Australia and extending this capability to international markets.

Owners Reay Mackay and Julie Verner-Mackay are thrilled at winning the iAward. During a recent interview Reay made the following comment:

We would like to thank everyone involved in aXcelerate and congratulate all other finalists. As the Australian education industry, particularly the VET Sector continues to change and adapt to new policy and technological advancements, aXcelerate will continue to innovate to enhance system automation and performance. aXcelerate will also be focusing on the latest learning and experience technologies enabling learners to develop skills in new and more flexible ways.”

After winning the Queensland division, aXcelerate now go on to be finalists for the National iAwards within the education category. The winner will be announced at the National iAwards Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony held in August.
