Announcement posted by IFIP - International Federation for Information Processing 03 Jul 2015

Friday, 3 July 2015 – The countdown is on for INTERACT 2015, the 13th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), which will take place from 14-18 September 2015 in the historic town of Bamberg, Germany.

The flagship conference of the HCI Technical Committee (TC13) of IFIP, the International Federation for Information Processing, INTERACT 2015 is expected to attract over 500 people to explore the theme of “Connection. Tradition. Innovation.”

General Conference Co-chair, Tom Gross of the University of Bamberg said the event will consider the latest developments in computer interfaces with topics ranging from mobile devices and visualisation techniques to human factors, modelling tools and the emotional and motivational aspects of HCI.

“As mobile devices, tablets and wearable technologies increasingly replace traditional computers, methodologies and approaches for effective human-computer interaction are rapidly transforming. INTERACT 2015 will provide ICT practitioners working in this area with insights into the latest research and techniques to inform their development initiatives as well as offering a unique forum for discussion, collaboration and networking,” he said.

INTERACT 2015 has attracted over 100 world-class presenters for the event, including keynotes by:

·       Bill Gaver, Professor of Design and head of the Interaction Research Studio at Goldsmiths, University of London, presenting on the topic, “Seriously Playful: Using a Design-Led Approach to Explore Technology and People”;

  • Kevin Dame, founder and head of the Visioning Team at YouTube, who will discuss Visioning and Culture Change at YouTube and how this impacts design strategy.

Other presentations will address the full range of HCI platforms and applications, including gaming, educational programs, 3D applications, robotics, multi-touch devices, systems for people with disabilities, drone management and more.
