Heard It Through The Grapevine: The Shafston Kicks Off Spring

Announcement posted by Liquidity Marketing and Communications 29 Jul 2015

Boutique Wine and Craft Beer Festival September 5th 2015
Brisbane: Put a skip in your step this September and celebrate the arrival of spring with Queensland craft beers, boutique wines and gourmet food at the Shafston Hotel’s Hops and Vines festival.

The hotel will make delicious use of it’s laneway to put on a street festival of epic proportions, featuring brews, sips, food trucks and tunes.

For just $10 a ticket, festival-goers will be able to get their hands on a unique festival-branded wine glass and fill it with two wines from the myriad of local boutique wine brands heading to the festival. Then, keep that wine glass overflowing all afternoon and sample even more great local drops, including Tin Shed, Wirra Wirra, Deviation Road and St Clair, which will be available to sniff and sip while enjoying the sunshine.

If you are not a friend of the vine, no need to worry. Some of the region's best craft beer brewers will be setting up tents and taps in the laneways to quench the thirst of the beer lovers out there. Among the brews on offer will be local favourites Green Beacon, Stone and Wood and Newstead Brewing.

More interested in dining than wining? Keep hunger pains at bay and stave off tomorrow’s hangover with delicious snacks and meals from Brisbane’s best gourmet food trucks. A veritable feast of gourmet meals on wheels will be on offer, including hot dogs, sliders, AND Italian delicacies. No wine festival would be complete without cheese, so look out for gourmet cheese vendors providing platters to pair with your favourite drops.

Setting the afternoon mood on the Laneway stage will be local musical talents Tyrone Noonan Band, Fader, Mason Rack Band, The Hayden Hack Infusion and Willy Angelo. Chill out with your food baby, a wine in each hand, and welcome the warm weather back to Brisbane.

Festival-goers will even get the chance to win a wine lover’s getaway, with flights to the Barossa Valley, accommodation for two, and plenty of time to explore the local wineries. Get your entry in on the day to be in the draw!

Make a date with your foodie friends to enjoy good vibes and sample plenty of local brews and wines at The Shafston Hotel’s Hops and Vines food and wine festival on September 5.
