mcr achieves top Sun accreditation

Announcement posted by mcr Computer Resources 28 Apr 2004

The accreditation demonstrates mcr?s expertise in Sun products and its ability to advise customers on what technology best suits their business needs in the Datacentre.
To obtain the accreditation, mcr had to satisfy a range of Sun criteria. This included putting both technical and business staff through intensive training and assessment. Now, 11 mcr staff across sales, technical and marketing have been accredited. The certification allows mcr to perform server consolidation and platform migration amongst other managed services within the datacentre.
mcr Chief Operating Officer, Miles Liversage, says it is important in the current channel market to achieve and maintain Sun accreditation.
?You need to have knowledge of all the latest products and technology available to the marketplace,? says Liversage.
For Catherine McCourt, Sales Manager at mcr, the benefit to the customer is key. ?It sends a strong message to clients about our ability to understand their technology requirements and about our knowledge and technical skills to support them.
?If a company is making significant investments in high-end solutions, they want to work with a business partner that understands the technology and its benefits, and with a technical team that knows how to architect, deploy and support these systems. The Datacentre accreditation gives us that credibility both with Sun and our customers,? says McCourt.
David Hussey, National Sales Manager at Sun Microsystems, says Sun places a strong emphasis on its partners.
?We need specialist partners to deliver best-of-breed solutions,? says Hussey.
?It is important that our partners understand this and work with us to deliver solutions to customers? business problems. Mcr?s recognition of the importance of the Datacentre accreditation and its decision to train staff is a great example of what partnership truly means. It demonstrates real commitment to its customers and its relationship with Sun.?
In 2003, mcr was named Sun Service Representative of the Year for the second time in three years.
