Time to get sentimental: What dads really want this Father’s Day

Announcement posted by Map and Page 04 Sep 2015

3 in 4 Aussie dads want something they can keep and cherish this Father’s Day

Buying a gift for dad isn’t always easy, with 63 per cent of Australians admitting that they struggle to find the right present for their dad on Father’s Day. New research commissioned by leading photographic company FUJIFILM Australia, sheds light on what our Fathers really want in 2015, with sentimental, hand-made gifts being at the top of the list!

The Fujifilm Father’s Day 2015 Report reveals that 3 in 4 Fathers want something that they can keep this year, like a printed photo, with 61 per cent hoping to receive a hand-made gift on Father’s Day.

While 8 in 10 Australians agree that a printed photo is the perfect thoughtful gift, the Report found that a third of Australians did not print any of the photos they took in the last year. As a result, FUJIFILM is encouraging all Australians to ‘Print-a-memory’ this Father’s Day and create something thoughtful to show dads that you really care.

Jodi Anasta, mother of Aleeia (one), wife of Braith and Fujifilm Print-a-Memory Ambassador for The Fujifilm Father’s Day Report 2015 said:

“I think it’s wonderful that our fathers still value sentimental gifts. I remember making dad crafty things at school.  As this will be Braith’s second Father’s Day, Aleeia and I want to make him a photo album of our last year as a family to thank him for being such a wonderful father. It doesn’t need to be expensive; it’s the thought behind creating something special that they can cherish that counts.”

While most Australians will spend an average of $66.95 on a Father’s Day gift this year, the good news is that hand-made and sentimental gifts can be a labour of love, without needing to break the budget.

With Father’s Day this Sunday September 6, 2015, the majority of Aussies (63 per cent) are struggling to find the right present, with 1 in 6 making it a last minute decision, not planning anything until the day before, or the day itself.

Photo Printing Services powered by FUJIFILM technology, available in major Australian retail (Harvey Norman & Big W) and independent stores, offer affordable and easy-to-use customised photo printing gift ideas, from as little as $4.95, with some gifts taking no more than 10 minutes to produce.

Making the process even easier for time poor Australians around the country, FUJIFILM Australia have developed an App called TransPix®, which allows you to print on the spot in-store, straight from your mobile phone directly to a photo printing kiosk. They have also developed the Imagine Platform, for customers who want the convenience to print their photos online or via their mobile phone remotely.

This September, give dad something he really wants and ‘Print-a-Memory’ that he can cherish.
