Australian Primary Publisher of the year

Announcement posted by R.I.C. Publications 01 Oct 2015

R.I.C. Publications wins!

R.I.C. Publications is delighted to announce we have been voted Australian Primary Publisher of the Year 2015 at the recent awards held in Melbourne, Australia, on 17 September.

Organised by the Australian Publishers Association, the Educational Publishing Awards Australia (EPAAs) celebrate excellence in educational publishing and recognise and reward the work of educational publishers in all sectors. The award is based on extensive polling of teachers, principals and booksellers, and is judged on a set of criteria including quality, readability, design, curriculum matching, customer service, marketing and innovation.

This is a very prestigious award and is testament to the quality of our resources. Starting almost 30 years ago in a backyard shed, three teachers ‘had a go’ at creating some resources that they thought were more relevant to WA teachers than what was then available. Today R.I.C. Publications is the largest supplementary resource publisher in Australia, as well as owning operations in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Malaysia and New Zealand. A lot has happened over those thirty years and the product of which are very proud of today bears little semblance to that first produced back in 1986. What we are pleased to say, however, is that the ground rules that applied then, in the creation of new products, still exist today—that is, we look to solve problems and challenges that teachers encounter every day in the classroom. This remains the fundamental premise which underpins our decision-making at all levels, and will always remain so.

We are over the moon with this result. Next year RIC will be 30 years old and this award is a wonderful recognition of the journey we have travelled over that time. The award is further confirmation that our primary goal of making life easier for Australian primary school teachers is being achieved, in addition to being a well-deserved pat on the back for our talented and hard-working staff.’ Chris Carter, Director, R.I.C. Publications
