Report underscores strength of Candle's PathWAI "build, run and manage" solutions for WebSphere/Spotlights Leading Management Positions in Key segments of Worldwide Middleware Market Projected to Reach US$4.9 Billion by 2008
Candle Corporation, a leading enterprise infrastructure management provider, today announced its continued market leadership and growing market traction in key application infrastructure management markets. A new WinterGreen Research Inc. report* emphasizes Candle's significant role in empowering businesses to harness the capabilities of their IBM WebSphere infrastructures.
WinterGreen Research reports that Candle has increased its global market share in WebSphere MQ management solutions from 61 per cent in 2001 to 65 per cent in 2002. Additionally, WinterGreen Research states that Candle has achieved a 36 per cent worldwide market share in 2002 for management of WebSphere Business Integration Brokers - Candle held 19 per cent of the market in 2001.
"Middleware continues to be a linchpin for any e-business environment," said Sue Eustis, senior analyst, WinterGreen Research, Inc. "Performance tuning and management for middleware are critical elements in aligning enterprise infrastructures with specific business processes and applications. We project continued growing demand for solutions provided by Candle and other vendors to support each phase of the middleware life cycle." Candle's significant market share in WebSphere management reflects demand for the Candle PathWAI* solution portfolio. Offering WebSphere management solutions across the "build, run and manage" life cycle, Candle PathWAI provides businesses with the products and services to accelerate and optimise each phase of WebSphere design, development, deployment and operation.
Specifically, Candle's PathWAI Monitor for WebSphere MQ is the dominant solution in the mission-critical middleware messaging system management market, holding 65 per cent of the market. Candle is also a category leader in the application integration systems management market, with a 36 per cent market share.
WinterGreen Research projects that the worldwide mission-critical middleware market, currently at US$555 million, will reach US$4.9 billion by 2008. According to WinterGreen Research, key drivers for the continued growth of the middleware market include business requirements to further align front-end Internet systems with data in back-end systems and the need for added business process management. The rapidly growing middleware market creates a parallel growth opportunity for WebSphere MQ management solutions.
"The WinterGreen report validates Candle's market leadership and underscores both the rapidly growing demand for WebSphere and the critical requirement for PathWAI solutions," said David Caddis, vice president, Application Infrastructure Management Group, Candle Corporation. "PathWAI provides the gold standard in WebSphere management. Candle offers tailored technologies and services solutions that empower customers to quickly remove roadblocks and optimise performance across the WebSphere development, deployment and management life cycle."
